This year, the goal for WEC is to emerge you in an unforgettable shared experience, so you will learn how to create meaningful experiences yourself. Meet Vinh Giang, who will take you on an experiential learning roller coaster to do just that! The margin for error in a magic show is very narrow. When achieving the impossible, it is important that the goals for each act are identified and established beforehand. There is no better way to illustrate this concept than to prove to the audience that—through a feat of seemingly impossible magic—the events of the entire show were prepared before it even began. The emphasis is not on the planning of every logistical element of the show; it’s on guiding perspective, spotlighting influence and challenging belief systems. Vinh’s focus is on designing an audience experience and will provide you with insights in how he does it. He will show you how to design a shared experience in its truest form.

    custom image

    Objectives

    • Perspective - Participants will learn how to become more innovative in their approach to creating new experiences and realize that thinking differently isn’t as hard as they may think. When you look at innovation in its most granular form it’s just composition. Two different perspectives coming together that haven’t previously come together before. People rarely seek new and different perspectives; they usually without knowing, create echo chambers for themselves. New experiences and new ideas live outside of these chambers. Vinh will show you how.
    • Influence - Participants will learn the importance of environment. We have more control over who we become than we think. This lesson will help attendees realize that they can become anyone they want to become, by becoming more aware of who they spend time with today. A pragmatic lesson everyone will be able to immediately apply to their lives. Vinh Giang is presented by: CMI Speaker Management

Uncertainty is everywhere and being able to minimize it is a key element of self-leadership and success. Being able to stay ahead of uncertainty is a great way to fuel self-confidence and minimize self-doubt.

Since age fifteen, when I was told I was going blind, I’ve dealt with constant transition and uncertainty. At a young age I developed my visionary approach to being in control of my future rather than just letting life happen to me. If we don’t learn to be adaptable and control our own future, then we’re choosing complacency and simply playing a cameo role as life unfolds around us. I explain how imagination, which I call my “inner movie”, is a powerful tool that can be used to stay a step ahead and gain more value and happiness out of each day. I talk about five ways your “inner movie” can be used to minimize uncertainty, build strong relationships, remove obstacles, and achieve dreams.

Attendees will walk away with tools they can immediately apply to their personal and professional life, and with the motivation to use these tools to implement changes they desire. Attendees also gain a new and important sense of optimism and gratitude and learn how to use these values as the cornerstone to happiness and the foundation on which to build their success.

    custom image

    Objectives

    • Attendees will recognize a new level of internal and external awareness which will increase their practical intelligence and improve their ability to anticipate. Being able to anticipate others’ actions and reactions increases preparedness which builds self-confidence.
    • Attendees will critique their own behaviors and recognize the internal obstacles that may be getting in the way of achieving their goals. They will learn techniques they can implement to remove these obstacles in order to be the best they can possibly be, at home, at work, in life in general.
    • Students will infer the value of social intelligence and how to apply it, empowering them to build strong relationships.

Many people who like to cook know how a gazillion recipes but end up making the same handful of recipes week after week. It’s the same with event design, isn’t it? We know tons of techniques for (legally) spicing up a meeting or event, but we tend to use the same go-to activities or techniques event after event after event. It’s time to spice up our events! This yummy session shares creative, unique ‘recipes’ for shaking up your next event.

During this appetizing session, participants learn about the ingredients for each recipe and potential uses for it. Wendy pays homage to the ‘chef’ who shared the recipe and shares examples of how others have used the recipe for various types of meetings. Participants will get to sample several of the activities during the session. In small group exercises, participants discuss how they can apply the recipes to their own upcoming programs and even how they might tweak a recipe by adding their own ‘flavor’ to it. A handful of attendees are selected to share their recipe with the larger group.

    custom image

    Objectives

    • Add to your ‘cookbook’ at least seven creative, novel recipes for designing experiential events.
    • Generate your own recipes for adding zest to your face-to-face or virtual meetings, adapting from the ideas shared during the session.
    • Create a plan to use at least one recipe in an upcoming meeting.
