Joyce Martinez

Joyce M. Martinez is a professional with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of sales & business development, marketing research, meetings & conventions, international markets, and strategic business management for the hospitality industry. She is currently the Director, Business Development, TX and Southeast US for Business Events Canada, the MC&IT division of DESTINATION CANADA. She has extensive experience in the meetings, events, and destination marketing industry having achieved several executive positions for the Puerto Rico DMO in their offices in Washington D.C., Miami, San Juan, and Dallas. During her professional career, she has also worked as a hospitality consultant with diverse teams at hotels, DMO’s, and convention centers in the areas of market research, training on service standards, sales development, team leadership, events planning, and international markets. In the academic field, Joyce has been a professor and instructor at several universities teaching business and hospitality programs in Washington D.C., Miami, Puerto Rico, and Dallas. Joyce is an active member in professional associations such as MPI/DFW, PCMA, and SITE. She was BOD for MPI-DFW chapter (2016-2017) and also served as Chair of the Mentor Program (2017-2018) and continues involved in committees.
