Deborah Dickerson

Deborah is a veteran of the Meetings and Events Industry. She has over 35 years of experience in Strategic Meetings Management and Operations. She started her career in Meetings and Events at the National Urban League in New York City. Subsequently, she was employed with American Express Meetings and Events (GBT), BCD Meetings and Incentives, and is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at East West Connection. Her career afforded her the opportunity to create global Strategic Meetings Management programs as well as managing global teams. Deborah pursued a B.A. degree in Business Administration at Baruch College in NYC. She received her Certification in Global Leadership hosted by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, and completed the Executive Leadership Training program hosted by the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Her industry specific certifications include Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) and her Certification in Strategic Meetings Management (CMM). Deborah’s professional affiliations include: Spokesperson for the National Adoption Network; Member and Speaker - Meeting Planners International; member of the Coalition of Black Meeting Planners Association. She was the recipient of the Campbell Soup “You Make A Difference Award”; “The Platinum Circle Award” from BCD Meetings and Incentives and “The Excellence in Leadership Award” from American Express Meetings and Events. Deborah is a native of Queens, New York, but currently resides with her husband in Marlton NJ. She is the mother of three daughters and 1 son. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, dancing and she has a passion for mentoring.
