Rachel Benedick

Rachel Benedick is the Chief Revenue Officer for Meeting Professionals International. Prior to this role, she served as Executive Vice President, Sales & Services for VISIT DENVER, where she oversaw a staff of 34 sales and services professionals, responsible for booking and providing services for Denver’s $600 million Colorado Convention Center, its $233 million expansion, more than 13,000 hotel rooms in downtown Denver and 54,000+ hotels metro-wide.

She was the key convention sales person in the booking of the Democratic National Convention of 2008 (the largest single event in Denver’s history), and, working with then Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, she was the chief convention sales liaison in bringing the Outdoor Retailer tradeshows to the Mile High City in 2017, a five year commitment that constituted the largest single convention booking in Denver’s history, bringing a total of 70,000 delegates and $100M in spending to the city every year. In 2007, Rachel was awarded the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) Outstanding Contribution to the Hospitality Industry award, in 2010 Rachel was awarded the Tourism Supplier of the Year by the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI) and in 2022 Rachel received the Sandy Gerety Industry Legacy Award from the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Meeting Professionals International. Rachel started her career with VISIT DENVER in 1998 and was appointed to Vice President of Sales & Services in 2008, after having served twice as interim Vice President for the department. In January 2020 Rachel was promoted to Executive Vice President, Sales & Services in this new role, Rachel will co-share the responsibilities (with the Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration) of acting as the organizations second in command with emphasis on her core areas of expertise. Rachel received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology & Counselor Education in 2001 from the University of Colorado – Denver and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1995 from Michigan State University. When she’s not working Rachel can be found with her Weimaraner Rezak, working out and enjoying time with her family and friends.
