Apr 10, 2026
THE PATIENT VOICE AT MEDICAL MEETINGS: HOW LIVED EXPERIENCE IS RESHAPING SCIENTIFIC DIALOG | April 10 | 9:00 AM CT - 10:30 AM CT
Patients are increasingly stepping onto the main stage at medical meetings, offering perspectives that challenge assumptions and enrich scientific dialogue. This webinar explores why their voices matter, what they hope to achieve, and how their lived experience is reshaping professional education.Through real-world examples and candid insights, we’ll look at what patients bring to the conversation, how their perspectives differ from traditional faculty, and what organizers should consider when integrating patient voices responsibly and meaningfully. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of why this shift is happening, what patients hope to achieve, and how their participation is transforming the way healthcare professionals learn and collaborate.Behind every clinical decision is a human story. Today, those stories are being told directly by the people who live them. This webinar brings forward the growing movement of patient speakers at medical meetings—why they’re stepping up, what they want healthcare professionals to understand, and how their presence is transforming the tone and purpose of scientific exchange.Patient involvement in accredited and non‑accredited medical education is expanding, but it requires thoughtful planning and clear boundaries. This webinar reviews the evolving role of patient speakers at medical meetings, the educational value they provide, and the considerations necessary to ensure their participation aligns with regulatory, ethical, and scientific standards. Participants will hear directly from patients about their expectations and experiences, offering practical insights for compliant program design.

As planners, part of that means being able to answer questions from chief sustainability officers and executive-level stakeholder(s) and clients, particularly those whose focus is organizational support of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
The industry has been talking about sustainability in events for years and many of us have implemented small changes, but now we have to go further and redefine how we plan. MPI's newest micro-certificate dives into specifics around sustainability, government regulations, community impact, food & beverage, carbon offsets and tracking and supply chain engagement.
