How often have you thought about apathy and the environment? Have you often wondered what it may take to get people to 'engage’ with sustainability? This session will take you through a psychological tour of what may make it challenging for people to act on their aspirations to make our planet- and ourselves – healthier and more green. We will discuss the latest theories of environmental psychology and translate what this means for you – in your organization, workplace and personal life.
Learning Objectives:
Apply psychological insights for understanding why people may not act in accordance with their values.
Gain an appreciation of the central role emotions play in how we respond to environmental challenges.
Develop an approach in your organization to support people towards more sustainable practices (hint: it does not involve guilt, incentives or tricks).
