The Most Important Part of Your Event: An Engaging Opening | January 27th, 2025 | 11-12 AM CT | 1 Clock hour, Domain A: Strategic Planning
Speaker: The Party Scientist
After being invited to speak at three MPI conferences, IMEX, and CMP Conclave, Jacques W. Martiquet found himself in the meetings industry. His passion is equipping leaders with tools to boost interpersonal joy. Before helping meeting planners shape the future of gatherings, Jacques planned 100s of sober dance parties across 15 countries.
The Party Scientist is known for his energizing, interactive openings. In this workshop, he will show you how to craft an opening that 'changes your entire event.' You'll be equipped with social neuroscience principles, so that you can design an opening that accomplishes three objectives: (1) Elevate physical energy — 'I feel ready to learn and network.' (2) Foster belonging — 'I feel accepted for who I am here.' (3) Generate psychological safety — 'I can take risks here & won't be punished.'
Learning Objective:
Design an opening experience that makes your guests feel safe (1) to turn off their social-autopilot, (2) take off their armor, and (3) express their whole selves.
