David joined Western Veterinary Conference (WVC) in February 2009 as Assistant CEO and Director of the organization’s Oquendo Center and moved into his current role as CEO in April 2013. Prior to employment at WVC, David spent 8 years with the American Veterinary Medical Association’s (AVMA) Convention & Meeting Planning Division, with the final 6 years serving as the Division Director. Throughout his career, David has been actively involved in organized event and meeting planning activities through his time on the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Board of Directors and in serving on Atlanta, Seattle and Washington, D.C.’s Customer Advisory Boards. David grew up in the veterinary world beginning work in his father’s mixed-animal practice in Central Illinois at age 7 and has a brother who currently works as a thoroughbred race track veterinarian at Arlington and Hawthorn Parks outside of Chicago. David graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Sports Marketing & Management. He and his wife of 26-years (Stacey) have 3 children (Trey; Haley & Travis), a Chihuahua named Jellybean and a Husky/Malamute mix named Koda.
