Wallace Johnson

As VP of Marketing & Business Development with Mertzcrew, Wallace leads the client communication, education and implementation efforts of their labor management software for live events production companies. His 15+ year corporate career began in the AV hospitality market with Swank Audio Visuals where he gained his foundational knowledge of a customer service first approach to delivering technical solutions. He later moved south to join AVI-SPL’s Hotel & Event Production division where he spent over 10+ years lastly in the role of VP of Operations overseeing 100+ offices throughout the US, Puerto Rico and Mexico. After the division was acquired by Freeman AV, Wallace transitioned to Tampa based AV company DCE Productions to serve as President, leading their expansion as a full service AV production company. Wallace is a Certified Technology Specialist by Infocomm and currently serves as Infocomm Chair of the Live Event Council. Most recently he was named Infocomm's Young AV Professional of The Year which recognizes young people who have achieved outstanding success, made significant contribution and are poised to be leaders in the AV industry for years to come. Wallace is also host of AVNation.TV podcast - "The LIVE Life" which brings influential guest to discuss topics related to the selling, planning, designing, producing and delivering Live Event Productions.
