Dennis O'Gara is the Director of Regional Operations for Smart City's Northern Region. He oversees Smart City's accounts in the region, including the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium, Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the Atlantic City Convention Center, among others. As Regional Director, he develops and implements programs for continuous improvement and profit enhancement, manages the renewal process for extension of existing facility agreements in the region, and oversees special projects such as new business opportunities. Mr. O’Gara was successful in implementing a suite of new Wi-Fi products and pricing structure that empowered Smart City’s client’s budget flexibility and enabled Smart City’s sales team to increase unit sales while providing scalable upsell opportunities. Prior to his current position, Mr. O'Gara was the Smart City General Manager at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium. In his role as General Manager, he developed and implemented cost savings plans to reduce operating expenses that were invaluable during the recession period. He also increased sales at the center over the previous telecom provider by 30% in the first year and an additional 25% in the following year. Within five years, the building saw revenue quadruple. Mr. O’Gara has provided consulting and design services to clients inside and outside of the convention industry. Some of his notable large projects include the High-Density Wi-Fi at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium leading up to Super Bowl XLVI in 2012, the design of a High-Density Wi-Fi system for Pauley Pavilion at UCLA in July of 2012, Project Management services for a High-Density Wi-Fi system installation at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 2014, and most recently, Project Management and consulting services for a High-Density Wi-Fi installation at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, slated to be completed in 2016
