Sometimes we seek out a professional change and sometimes—like a phoenix rising from the ashes—we find ourselves forced into a professional change through adversity. During COVID-19, many people found themselves with career changes, temporary and permanent, being thrust upon them. In this panel presentation, panelists who have made major career transitions over their lifetimes (some voluntary, some not so much) will talk about how they took sometimes unexpected forks in the road and found their destinies. Whether your job description has changed, you want to specialize in your career, you are approaching retirement, or you have changed jobs entirely, this is the session for you. Learner Outcomes: 1. Identify alternative jobs or careers that might be options should an alternative become necessary. 2. Classify your knowledge, skills, and abilities to see how they are transferable to similar and dissimilar positions 3. Evaluate your personal and professional resilience in the face of an unexpected job loss or change.
