Eyes Wide Shut: Debunking the MYTHS of Human Trafficking and what we can do to FIGHT it. | Malinda Harrell

Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Every year, thousands of men, women, and children fall into the hands of traffickers, in their own countries and abroad. Almost every country in the world is affected by trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit, or destination for victims. The Meetings industry is at the frontline of a battle to combat human trafficking with an increasing number of hospitality brands and organizations pledging to fight sexual and labor exploitation. In this brief session, we will break down some of the most common misconceptions and identify resources that we can implement NOW to be a part of the fight to prevent and end Human Trafficking and Slavery.

Radically Safe Events: Creating meetings and events where attendees thrive as their whole selves, creativity is encouraged, and feedback feels welcomed. | Tim Mousseau

People crave safety. When your attendees feel safe, they are more engaged, build longer-lasting connections, and experience a more profound sense of belonging. Creating safe events involves more than preventing intentionally harmful behaviors. Without the right approach, it is easy to miss out on the routine actions, policy gaps, and cultural norms that prevent people from feeling safe. In turn, attendees feel undervalued, withhold critical feedback, and stop attending future events.

Where feelings of safety are vital to thriving communities, instilling safety doesn't happen by chance.

Applying the Radically Safe Framework, Tim will walk members through a three-step process that teaches actionable skills while addressing rooted issues to ensure immediate and ongoing feelings of safety, regardless of external factors, stresses, or volatility.

DESIGN to CHANGE - Elevating your abilities to look and act beyond the now - Book Exploration Conversation | Ruud Janssen & Roel Frissen

A good conversation can shift the direction of change forever. Would you leave it a chance?
Would you like to know how to identify, respond and act in situations of ambiguity with your event owner?

A conversation with the authors and creators of the Event Canvas™ with a sneak peek into their new book "DESIGN to CHANGE".

Driven by the needs and conversations with Event Owners and Event Designers who use the Event Canvas™ around the world in a turbulent time of change, we have drafted the “DESIGN to CHANGE” companion book to the best-selling “Event Design Handbook”.

In this session, you will explore with the authors and EDC MasterMinds the implications of the change in the event landscape and how to design the conversations between Event Owners and Event Designers. A story about wants and needs, process and outcome, and horizons of change from a dualistic perspective.

The session is for designers, owners, managers, change-makers, gatekeepers, and change-makers interested in how events can create value for an organization over time.
