1 Clock Hour | Domain G: Meeting or Event Design

Ever wonder how a customer chooses an event/meeting planner? Think they decide based on experience, reputation, cost? What if I told you that’s not the whole story? What if I told you that they buy from whoever makes them feel safe and important? Persuasive storytelling engages the audience, deepens relationships, and closes deals. No matter how advanced technology becomes, relationships will always be the center of any successful business. The solution is to combine technology with relationships, and storytelling is how to do it.

One of the biggest challenges today is how to create content that stands out in a media-saturated world. Great brands are not built on product pitches. Storytelling uses a narrative arc that is designed to elicit an emotional response from the audience. By implementing a storytelling approach that converts complex content into targeted, engaging stories, brands can create emotional connections that are memorable, and motivate cooperative behavior. Stories make money because it guarantees an emotional connection that is sustainable long term.
