At the heart of any meeting or event is the people. When considering the topic of “People-Centered Event Design” we need to further investigate what this means for the future of our industry. Are keynotes and lectures a thing of the past? Is social learning the new way that people want to engage? Does identity play a greater factor in the way we design events, more so than what is listed on an attendee badge? Are the way our events are designed, people-centric? Join us for our next installment of the Future Forward series as we dive in headfirst and explore what matters most to our attendees not just today, but in 2022 and beyond.

Give the People What They Want! Transformational Values-Driven Hybrid Events | David Allison
Overnight, online events went from being something strange and new to being the new normal. Now that in-person events are possible again, some people can’t wait to meet face-to-face and others will always prefer a digital option. How can you design events that work for both kinds of people!
In this dynamic and fast-paced presentation, David Allison will share the results of a study based on 600,000 surveys. He’s dug deep to the core of both kinds of event attendees to identify the drivers behind their decisions and emotions. Values-driven events are transformational...don’t miss out!

We know hundreds of creative meeting techniques. And yet, we tend to stick with our handful of tried and true go-to-meeting structures, don't we? It really doesn’t take much to spice up our next event!
This session is like a HelloFresh or Blue Apron meal-in-a-box delivered to your right to your computer screen with fresh, easy to make recipes and all the ingredients needed to make a tasty new event experience. Wendy Gates Corbett is a corporate talent development (read ‘training’) professional who has designed and delivered thousands of programs in her 20+ year career. She has assembled tantalizing recipes for spicing up experiential face-to-face AND virtual events from industry ‘chefs’ and she shares them all with simple step-by-step instructions.
During the appetizing session, participants learn about the ingredients for each recipe and potential uses for it. Verbally and in the chat window, participants discuss how they can apply the recipes to their own upcoming programs and even how they might tweak a recipe by adding their own ‘flavor’ to it. Participants who attended Wendy’s live breakout session at WEC will be invited to share the results of their challenge! Want to know what the challenge was? You’ve got to attend to find out!

This year, the goal for WEC is to emerge you in an unforgettable shared experience, so you will learn how to create meaningful experiences yourself. Meet Vinh Giang, who will take you on an experiential learning roller coaster to do just that! The margin for error in a magic show is very narrow. When achieving the impossible, it is important that the goals for each act are identified and established beforehand. There is no better way to illustrate this concept than to prove to the audience that—through a feat of seemingly impossible magic—the events of the entire show were prepared before it even began. The emphasis is not on the planning of every logistical element of the show; it’s on guiding perspective, spotlighting influence and challenging belief systems. Vinh’s focus is on designing an audience experience and will provide you with insights in how he does it. He will show you how to design a shared experience in its truest form.
